I moved to London to study nursing and go to university - I left after a few years, went travelling and was bitten by the bug (in more ways than one!). Being a middle child of 1970's Kent didn't give me obvious grounding in presenting programmes, however it was in the role of one of the Shepherds at a Nativity play that gave me my first taste of the performing bug. Fast forward a few years and I’m now living in London and am a presenter and stand up comedian.

My Campaign Trail

My plan for the campaign is to firstly make a website: danny4lowcostholidays.com and wear a t shirt to advertise it at my stand up gigs (I have a large email contact list for the audience), contact a friend who works on the local paper for an interview and mention it on my weekly radio show. I'll also set up an ongoing blog and twitter account to give commentary and feedback.

My manifesto

Some people say holidays have changed since they were young. I disagree. Going on holiday as a child was an adventure, a journey to the edge of my imagination whether on the beach at Brighton or the Pyramids. While the world has become easier to get around, the excitement and wonder hasn't stopped. I still get excited by the possibility of going away, being at an airport, at a border crossing or getting an overnight train to the next city. As your travel reviewer I’d use my presenting skills and travel experience to highlight areas you may be familiar with as well as discovering new ones stretching our imagination. Someone once said travel broadens the mind - I say travel should be accessible to all, having good memories and above all else, fun!
